Wet Hire - Excavators

Our equipment hire includes both the machine, and a highly skilled and experienced operator, ensuring a complete and seamless service for you.

We have a large inventory of excavators to suit any size job, from 1-2 Tonne mini excavators and posi tracks right through to 30 Tonne machines for all commercial excavation and demolition work.

We provide late-model machines - fitted with the latest safety features, reduced carbon emissions and energy efficiency, and IVMS to safeguard our workforce in remote working conditions. Caustic Bladder contamination services

Aussie Enviro has gained extensive experience with working at and around caustic bladders, through projects it has delivered for major mining corporations in North Queensland.

Our recent project experience includes:

• Drilling and sampling of soil bores within the base and around the bladders
• Installation and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells
• Development of remediation plans

Underground Storage Tank (UST) Removal

A common occurrence in petroleum industries is the requirement to remove underground storage infrastructure such as tanks, fuel pipelines, bowsers and vents. Inadequate monitoring or maintenance can cause UST’s to leak, releasing petrol, diesel and other hydrocarbons into the soil and groundwater, which can impact neighbouring properties, residents and businesses.

The removal of UST’s, particularly once abandoned, will eliminate any risk of environmental impacts and liability for these systems.

Refinery remediation

Our specialised remediation team obtained the necessary skills, experience and equipment for in-situ refinery environmental remediation, subsequently remediating it to a standard that is suitable for future use.

Test Pit Services

Aussie Enviro provides experienced and certified excavator operators that enable geotechnical engineers to assess, sample and characterise the features of soil and rock samples of a specific property.

The investigation works are typically carried out using our excavator with small-medium sized buckets, backfilled and track rolled for compaction. This process allows for geotechnical engineers to perform in-situ field testing, collect samples at different depths and submit for laboratory analysis.

Cone Penetration Testing (CPT Testing)

Our 14 tonne excavator is equipped to perform cone penetration testing (CPT) to support geotechnical engineers in their investigations.

The benefit of using our excavator for CPT testing is that our equipment is track mounted which allows for access to areas where drill rigs are unable to gain access. Once in position, our excavator is placed on a portable mount and utilises the hydraulic power of the machine to activate the probe carriage to depths in excess of 25m. This allow geotechnical engineers to obtain subsurface information for soil characterisation, soil strength and other properties.

Plate Load Testing

Plate load test is a simple process for obtaining reliable information of the surface soil stiffness and likely load/settlements characteristics for shallow footings.

The undercarriage of our excavator is used to secure the steel plate in place for geotechnical engineers to obtain data on the surface soil foundation and avoid unnecessary additional costs where the potential for collapse is possible.

Pavement Borehole Investigation

Aussie Enviro undertake various pavement investigations for local government bodies, civil construction companies and regional road programs.

Our excavators are equipped with auger attachments to allow for pavement rehabilitation works, including stabilised and bitumen pavements. Following collection of samples for laboratory analysis, pavement boreholes are backfilled with excavated material, drainage gravel and cold-mix asphalt to minimise material waste.

Cultural Heritage Test Pit Investigation

An area of our expertise that diversifies us from our competitors is the ability to provide equipment and skilled operators to perform services in high impact activity or cultural heritage sensitive areas.

Working with qualified Archaeologists, excavation works are typically carried out using our 6 tonne excavator and small-large sized buckets with blades covering the digging teeth i.e. mud buckets ensuring appropriate methodology is followed to achieve the most effective results.

Excavated material is sieved through a portable trailer mounted shaker grid system, with all identified or suspected cultural material retained, bagged and labelled. All test pits are backfilled immediately using material excavated from the pits to prevent possible sediment contamination.

In-situ treatment of contaminated oil and material to neutralise contamination

Our proven track record and demonstrated proficiency for in-situ treatment of contaminated soil and material diversifies us from our competitors by providing turn-key capability of services in remote locations throughout Queensland and South Australia. Aussie Enviro has a dedicated team with the expertise to deliver the versatility, methodology and technology to treat soil on site in one simple process. Our unique technique during the treatment process allows us to screen, aerate, crush and treat contaminated material in one simple process. Once the soil has been deemed Category A status, the soil is transported to a local borrow pit for re-use on future projects.

Pipeline excavation and decommission is an area of core expertise for Aussie Enviro. Primarily completed in remote locations of South West Queensland and South Australia, this work is often undertaken during strict timeframes and schedules due to the requirement for additional tradesman to oversee the works, such as service technicians, speciality trades and labour personnel.

Key activities include:

• Construction of pipeline easement and laydown area
• Installation and/or repair of new pipeline
• Cutting of decommissioned pipeline into manageable sections
• Load, transport and remove pipeline and associated infrastructure from site
• Backfill, moisture conditioning and compaction of pipeline easement to natural conditions

Following excavation work, disturbed areas are reinstated to match existing landforms. Rehabilitation is undertaken in accordance with approval requirements and a site visit to confirm completion of works.

Land clearing

To diversify our business from our competitors, our terminator mulcher provides productivity and efficiency for land clearing.

Attached to our 8 tonne excavator and 14 tonne excavator, the FAE forestry mulchers are perfect for clearing small trees and shrubs along roadsides, creeks, riverbanks, overgrown bushland and places that could otherwise be difficult to reach. Vegetation that is passed through the terminator mulcher can be reclaimed onsite, removing the need to dispose material off site.

Vegetation management and rehabilitation

Aussie Enviro provides ongoing vegetation maintenance programs for facilities including Satellites, Ponds, Pipelines, Easements and Camps for major oil and gas companies in South West Queensland and South Australia.
