Bioremediation in the Cooper Basin, SA and QLD

Treatment of contaminated stockpiles in various locations throughout South West Queensland and South Australia is a difficult task to achieve given the location of work and equipment / expertise required to successfully remediate material for re-use purposes. The Aussie Enviro Team have successfully remediated over 80,000 tonne of hydrocarbon impacted soil, with treatments performed until the soil has been categorised as Cat A material which is suitable for re-use. Using our large excavator with screening bucket attachment and mine specification water truck, the contaminated soil is crushed/aerated, treated, moisture conditioned and stockpiled in windrow formations to allow bacteria to grow, reproduce and effectively digest contaminant sources.

CPT testing at the Port of Brisbane, QLD

To support our Geotechnical customers in their onsite investigations, our 14 tonne excavator is fully equipped used to complete cone penetration testing (CPT) at various locations in Brisbane, particularly in the Port of Brisbane area.

The hydraulics fitted on our 14 tonne excavator were used to activate the probe carriage to install and remove probe to specified depth.

Underground Storage Tank Decommission

Removal and disposal of underground storage tanks, particularly in remote areas, is our area of expertise. In 2017, our crew decommissioned and transported 4 x 65,000lt underground storage tanks from a property near Roma, QLD. Project tasks included:

  • Excavation and removal of hardstand area to expose UST’s and fuel infrastructure
  • Sampling and analysis of UST’s, fuel infrastructure and temporary stockpiles to confirm material was not contaminated
  • Load and transport decommissioned USTs, cathodic protection and existing concrete footings for off-site disposal
